Located at 1962 m above sea level, Lake Bunyonyi is about 25km long and 7km wide. Lake Bunyonyi, popularly known as the "Place of many little birds", lies in south western Uganda between the districts of Kisoro and Kabale bordering Uganda and Rwanda. Its depth is rumored to vary between 44m and 900m.

Welcome to Bunyonyi Wildlife Island - Kyahugye Ltd. The resort is beautifully situated on the rolling banks of Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake in Africa, offering magnificent views of the lake and its islands! It is the only wildlife resort on Lake Bunyonyi and is recognized as one of the top 10 eco-resorts in Uganda. Currently, there are ten self contained Chalets (Cottages).  In addition there are twelve independent budget rooms. The Chalets are spacious and luxuriously furnished with luggage racks, and spacious double, twin or single beds.Each chalet has a strategically positioned balcony enabling the occupants to have magnificent views of the lake, birds singing sweetly in the trees, and also for the glorious sunrises and sunsets on the Island. The surrounding forest environs are equally captivating and very relaxing. The temperatures in the rooms are very comfortable due the surrounding natural forest. The arboretum is available for the discerning botanist and amateur herbalist.  Herbal therapy will soon be an exclusive facility at the Resort.
